I just completed a web production class at UW-Stout. One of the projects was to build a narrative web site, which you can see here. One warning though, a modern browser with HTML5 capabilities must be used. Internet Explorer will NOT display the site correctly! Current versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Safari work fine with best results in the latter two. I decided to incorporate HTML5 video because I had been looking for an excuse to play with the code. I also decided to use Mozilla’s Popocorn JS JavaScript library to add interactivity between the video and the page. My original ambitions were much greater for this project, but I still like how it turned out. There are a lot of things that could be improved, but it was a good learning experience. The entire video was shot in under an hour, and edited almost as quickly. Luckily, I was not being graded on my video production skills.
